For a 10th century castle no longer habitated, this was in great shape. True, some of the structure was crumbling, but a good portion of the place was as sturdy as sturdy gets. Artifacts from times past were staged in the various rooms of the castle. The craftsmanship displayed in these items was readily evident. The layout of the building was a bit confusing. I am sure I did not see all of the rooms... there were too many towers attached to halls attached to towers. I did see many of the rooms which looked out towards the town and my favourite part of the castle was in the tall round tower closest to the line of windmills. Views from various levels of this tower were awesome.
